The Dominican Republicans pitchers essentially took the day off at the
ballpark as the Detroit Iron Gloves offense erupted for 14 runs while Doug
Davis(6-2)with the aid of the bullpen allowed Dominican 4 runs.

Detroit took the lead for good in the 2nd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2
hits.  The key at-bat was by Jacque Jones who made the crowd happy when he
bombed a two-run dinger (his 10th of the season).  The Detroit offense
man-handled the Dominican pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9
innings.  

Jeremy Bonderman(5-9) absorbed the loss.  He was touched for 4 homeruns in his
5 innings of work.  Detroit now has a record of 43-38.  With the loss,
Dominican has a record of 3-7 lately, 32-49 overall.
